About The Position

Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. is a global leader in the production, distribution, and marketing of fresh, value-added, and shelf-stable fruits and vegetables under its Fresh and Foods divisions. The Del Monte Foods division in Plover, Wisconsin is hiring Seasonal Boiler Room Relief Operators to support boiler room operations, utility monitoring, equipment inspections, sanitation, and operational support activities during pack season operations. Employees in these positions assist with monitoring boiler systems, maintaining utility operations, recording equipment readings, and supporting boiler room cleanliness and safe operation throughout the facility. Work schedules during the season can be demanding and may include shifts of up to 12 hours per day, up to 6 days per week. Overtime is available after 40 hours worked in a week. Start dates, end dates, and schedules may vary depending on operational requirements and crop conditions.

Requirements

Ability to safely work in a fast-paced manufacturing and utility environment
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
Ability to maintain productivity and attention to detail during extended shifts
Ability to read gauges, charts, digital displays, or equipment readings accurately
Ability to maintain accurate written documentation and boiler logs
Ability to safely work around boilers, steam systems, pumps, valves, industrial equipment, and hot surfaces
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Ability to walk, stand, bend, climb stairs/ladders, and maneuver around uneven surfaces throughout assigned shifts
Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment as required
Reliable attendance and dependability throughout the seasonal production period
Previous manufacturing, boiler room, utility, maintenance, sanitation, or industrial experience
Basic knowledge of steam systems, pumps, valves, water systems, or industrial equipment
Experience working around boilers, utility systems, or mechanical equipment
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
Experience with lockout/tagout or confined space procedures
Basic computer or documentation experience
An equivalent combination of education, manufacturing experience, warehouse operations, military service, staffing coordination, employee leadership, administrative support, or related operational experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position may be considered.

Nice To Haves

Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification is a plus
CPR, First Aid, or AED certification is a plus
Bilingual communication skills are a plus

Responsibilities

Assist with monitoring boiler room equipment, steam systems, pumps, valves, water levels, gauges, and related utility systems
Record and document equipment readings, operating conditions, and boiler log information
Support Boiler Operators and Utility leadership with operational monitoring and utility department activities
Assist with routine inspections of boilers and related utility equipment
Support housekeeping, sanitation, and organization within boiler room and utility areas
Assist with preventive maintenance activities, operational cleanup, or minor repair support as assigned
Monitor work areas for unsafe conditions, leaks, equipment concerns, or operational deficiencies and report issues to leadership
Follow GMP, food safety, lockout/tagout, confined space, and workplace safety requirements
Assist with operational coverage and support activities during staffing shortages or production demands
Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, equipment, and utility spaces
Support cross-functional operational activities as assigned within the utility department.
