About The Position

Koppers Inc. is seeking a Boiler Operator to oversee boiler operations, including gauge checking, system monitoring to prevent malfunctions, and regular testing of pressure, chemical, and water levels to ensure safe operation. The role involves identifying and fixing issues promptly to ensure smooth production processes, operating a kiln to dry poles according to company specifications, and performing minor mechanical maintenance on equipment. The operator will also use a loader as needed and work cooperatively with management and co-workers to achieve safety, quality, and production goals. Other work-related duties are also required.

Requirements

• Knowledge of boiler systems and mechanical components
• Ability to monitor and read gages
• Basic computer knowledge including applications
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Able to work in a team environment
• Willing to be hands on with physical production
• Must be able to work in all outside weather conditions (wet, hot, cold)
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
