Boiler Operator
About The Position
This position involves operating and maintaining the boiler plant for a medical campus. The operator will also observe and dispatch maintenance engineers in response to building automation system alarms related to HVAC systems, fire safety systems, emergency generators, and patient care equipment. Additionally, the role requires assisting the chief with duties concerning hot water boilers across the campus. The current work schedule is a 7 AM to 7 PM day or night shift on a 2/2/3 rotation, though this may change based on staff and management needs, with shifts determined by seniority. The operator may also be required to respond to emergency repair requests and perform other delegated responsibilities.
Requirements
- 2 years of classroom training or 2 years of experience in building maintenance
- Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to Essentia Health’s insurer
- Class 1B boiler operator with the state of MN
