About The Position

The Boiler Operator is responsible for operating multiple boilers safely and efficiently, with a strong attention to detail in learning operation, turnover, and handling of critical equipment. This role requires performing daily boiler water testing and chemistry, and adhering to OSHA, Best Practice, and MSDS protocols. The operator will also be responsible for the basic upkeep of the boiler room, monitoring fire alarm panels and Building Management Systems (BMS), and demonstrating strong computer skills for work orders, time management, and Microsoft Office.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years' experience in high pressure boiler plant operations.
  • Full knowledge of testing of Low Water Cut Off (LWCO), and Safety Valves.
  • Familiarity of chillers, air compressors, DA Tanks, Feedwater and House Pumps.
  • Strong computer skills for work orders, time management, and Microsoft office.

Nice To Haves

  • Suggested Boiler License NJ Black, Blue, Red, Gold and Philadelphia Engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Operate multiple boilers in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform proper boiler water testing and chemistry daily.
  • Ensure coverage through commitment to assigned shifts, even through inclement weather and ability to stay at work.
  • Contribute to safe and reliable operations, adhering to OSHA, Best Practice, and MSDS protocols.
  • Perform basic up-keep of boiler room consisting of cleaning, replacing filters, greasing equipment, and boiler inspection procedures.
  • Monitor and act upon Fire Alarm panels and Building Management System (BMS) for monitoring of pressure, btu's and D/P of critical equipment.
