This is a full-time, in-person, and essential position within the Division of Facilities Management (DFM) - North District. The work unit operates, maintains, and manages the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) Central heat plant, facilities, and campuses. This role is crucial for providing a safe, sanitary, and effective environment for clients, youth, residents, consumers, and staff, enhancing the quality of life in CDHS facilities and campuses. The position involves operations and maintenance functions for the physical plant equipment within the Heat Plant structure and external factors, performing essential operational functions, maintenance, cleanliness, preservation, and scheduled/emergency repairs (electrical and mechanical) to ensure effective operational practices and equipment longevity. The Central Heat Plant monitors the Energy Management System (EMS), the Monaco D-21 Fire Alarm (a Life/Safety System), performs dispatch duties for service calls, and coordinates maintenance functions affecting the EMS. Administrative functions are also required to document regulatory compliance and task completion.
