About The Position

At Essentia Health, the Boiler Operator Chief is dedicated to making a healthy difference in people's lives by providing a safe, reliable environment for patients and staff. This role involves operating and maintaining the boiler plant for the medical campus, ensuring safe and efficient facility operations and supporting building systems. The Chief will also supervise a team of rotating shift boiler operators, perform hot water boiler maintenance, and respond to alarms or emergency repair requests.

Requirements

Minnesota Chief B boilers license or greater
Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to Essentia Health’s insurer

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain boiler plant for medical campus
Observe and dispatch maintenance engineers for building automation system alarms regarding HVAC systems, fire safety systems, emergency generators, and patient care equipment
Maintain and perform checks regarding hot water boilers around campus
Respond to emergency repair requests
Carry out additional responsibilities as delegated
Supervise a team of rotating shift boiler operators
