Body Shop Estimator
About The Position
The Body Shop Estimator examines damaged vehicles, including cars and trucks, to identify damage and determine whether parts can be repaired or need replacement or repainting. The role estimates repair costs based on visual inspections and familiarity with standard parts, costs, and labor rates. The position requires strong technical and customer service performance, computer skills, and an unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record. A certification or designation in automotive repair is a plus. Additional duties may be required, and the listed responsibilities are not exhaustive.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Unrestricted driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Highly professional and dependable.
- Quality conscious and detail-oriented.
- Computer skills are required.
- Strong technical and customer service performance record.
Nice To Haves
- Two years of automotive experience, preferably at the dealer level or in a large facility.
- Some post-secondary automotive training.
- Certification or designation in automotive repair.
Responsibilities
- Estimate the cost of repairing damaged vehicles based on visual inspections and familiarity with parts, costs, and labor rates.
- Examine damaged vehicles to determine the feasibility and costs of repairing or replacing parts.
- Ensure required documentation is complete and complies with regulations and standards.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
