About The Position

The Body Assembler supports the collision repair process by removing, reassembling, and installing vehicle body components, trim, and hardware. Working alongside body technicians, the Assembler handles disassembly and reassembly, mechanical R&I (remove and install) operations, and final fit-and-finish so repaired vehicles are returned to pre-accident condition and delivered on schedule.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of hand and power tools used in body shop operations.
  • Ability to read repair orders and follow OEM assembly procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail with an eye for proper fit and finish.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and perform physical work in a shop environment.
  • Dependable, team-oriented, and able to work efficiently under production deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in collision repair, auto assembly, or mechanical R&I preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble damaged vehicles to expose repair areas, tagging and organizing parts, fasteners, and trim for reassembly.
  • Reassemble and install exterior and interior body panels, bumpers, moldings, trim, lamps, grilles, and hardware to factory specification.
  • Perform remove-and-install (R&I) operations on bolt-on components such as doors, fenders, hoods, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Align panels, doors, and closures to ensure proper gaps, fit, and operation.
  • Install glass, weatherstripping, and related sealing components as needed.
  • Verify all electrical connectors, sensors, and safety components are reconnected and functioning after reassembly.
  • Identify additional or hidden damage and communicate supplement needs to the estimator or manager.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and account for all parts and hardware.
  • Follow all shop safety procedures and OEM repair guidelines.
