About The Position

Boater’s World Marine Centers in Bradenton, FL is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Boat Delivery Captain to join our Gulf Coast team. This is not a behind-the-scenes role. You’ll be on the water daily — delivering boats, conducting walkthroughs, and helping customers feel confident operating their vessel in real conditions across Sarasota Bay, the Intracoastal, and the Gulf. Requirements

  • Strong boating experience with confident operation of outboards, inboards, and/or jet boats
  • Previous experience in boat delivery, marine operations, or a similar role preferred
  • USCG Captain’s License preferred (or equivalent real-world experience)
  • Strong understanding of navigation, docking, safety procedures, and Gulf Coast conditions
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to assist with physical tasks including moving equipment and handling lines
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to tow boats on trailers

Responsibilities

  • Conduct full delivery orientations for new and pre-owned boats
  • Walk customers through vessel operation, safety systems, and maintenance basics
  • Perform on-water demonstrations covering handling, docking, navigation, and safety procedures
  • Ensure every customer leaves confident and comfortable operating their boat
  • Deliver boats to customers, marinas, and off-site locations throughout the Gulf Coast region
  • Assist with launching, docking, loading, and securing vessels
  • Complete sea trials and delivery inspections, ensuring boats meet performance and safety standards
  • Serve as a trusted, knowledgeable resource for customers
  • Answer questions clearly and professionally both on land and on the water
  • Introduce customers to Service and Parts Departments for long-term support
  • Assist with moving and staging boats across the lot and showroom
  • Perform light preventative maintenance on display boats (cleaning, system checks, prep)
  • Help troubleshoot minor issues and guide customers through basic operational questions
  • Support the sales team with boat demonstrations and feature walk-throughs
  • Assist with boat shows, off-site events, and customer training sessions
  • Promote accessories and upgrades such as electronics and navigation systems
