Board Operator (Part Time)
About The Position
Connoisseur Media in Saginaw, Michigan, is seeking a part-time Board Operator for its WSGW station. This role is primarily for sports games and offers hands-on experience in live broadcasting, news writing, and reporting. The ideal candidate is reliable, enthusiastic, flexible with their schedule (nights and weekends are required), and available for on-call shifts based on the sports schedule. Prior experience is not necessary as training will be provided on FCC rules, EAS systems, and on-air legal requirements. Requirements
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Ability to interact with management and staff at all levels.
- Proficient in running radio automation systems.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in commercial or non-commercial broadcast media.
- Experience operating automation systems.
- Experience running radio automation systems, such as Marketron.
Responsibilities
- Operate on-air console and audio controls.
- Monitor station transmitters.
- Run ball games and commercials.
- Accurately log discrepancies.
- Maintain studio equipment and logs.
- Understand the procedures to follow in case of a computer crash or loss of broadcast signal.
- Communicate with the station Program Director in the event of any concerns, issues, or problems with the broadcast.
