About The Position
Ottawa Salus is seeking dedicated volunteer Board of Directors members to provide governance leadership. The Board oversees the organization's Executive Director and team. As current Directors retire, new members are sought to fill vacancies. The organization has recently updated its governance structure, bylaws, policies, and strategic plan. Ottawa Salus aims to increase Board diversity and encourages applications from all equity-deserving groups and younger demographics.
Requirements
- Strong personal commitment to Salus’ vision and mission.
- Capacity and commitment to serve as champions and ambassadors for Salus.
- Willingness to be elected for an initial 2-year term, which can be renewed up to 3 more times upon mutual agreement.
- Ability to commit approximately 4 to 6 hours per month to the Board.
- CPA or equivalent with business experience, or experience managing organizational change.
- Engagement in a philanthropic network.
- Legal Expertise.

Responsibilities
- Provide governance leadership to the Executive Director and their team.
- Serve as champions and ambassadors for Salus.
- Attend up to 6 Board meetings per year.
- Participate in Board committee work by serving on at least one committee.
