About The Position

FDIHB, Inc. is seeking three (3) individuals to serve as Members of the Board of Directors. This role requires a commitment to and understanding of FDIHB, Inc.'s mission and responsibilities, demonstrated through previous organizational leadership experience. Selected Board Members will have achieved leadership stature in business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector. The position demands diplomatic skills, a natural affinity for cultivating relationships, and the ability to influence, convene, facilitate, and build consensus among diverse individuals. Board members must be passionate about FDIHB's mission and possess the ability to work effectively with an active and diverse board leadership. A commitment of at least 10 hours per month is required for board responsibilities. Selected candidates must also pass an extensive character background check and investigation, and possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a passion for improving the lives of FDIHB’s stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Must be eighteen (18) years or older.
  • An enrolled member of the Navajo tribe.
  • Must not hold an elected office.
  • Must not be a current employee of FDIHB, Inc. or have been employed with FDIHB, Inc. during the last two (2) years.
  • A commitment to and understanding of FDIHB, Inc. mission and responsibilities, based on previous organizational leadership experience.
  • Must not be an employee of another healthcare facility or have a conflicting interest with FDIHB, Inc.
  • Must be a registered voting member in one of the following 16 chapters: Cornfields, Crystal, Fort Defiance, Ganado, Greasewood Springs, Houck, Kinlichee (Kin Dah Lichii’), Klagetoh, Lupton (Tsé Si' Aní), Oak Springs/Pine Springs, Red Lake (Navajo), Sanders (Nahatʼá Dziil), Sawmill, Saint Michaels, Steamboat, Wide Ruins.
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree from any accredited institution or a combination of education and experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Must adequately pass an extensive character background check and investigation.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a passion for improving the lives of FDIHB’s stakeholders.
