About The Position

Posterity Group LLC is seeking a Board Certified Interventional Radiology Physician to staff the Brooklyn VA Medical Center. The physician will be responsible for providing interventional radiology services, including clinic hours, weekend and after-hours call coverage, interpretation of imaging results, consultation services, patient safety oversight, and training of radiology residents and medical staff. Administrative responsibilities may also be assigned.

Requirements

  • Board Certified in Interventional Radiology.
  • Valid BLS certification.
  • Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from an approved medical school.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
  • Completion of residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
  • Sufficient computer skills for advanced PACs and voice recognition systems.

Responsibilities

  • Be available and present in clinic during normal MVAHCS Interventional Radiology and Vascular ultrasound clinic hours (currently 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday).
  • Provide weekend coverage, including Friday to Saturday (4:30 PM to 7:30 AM), Saturday to Sunday (7:30 AM to 7:30 AM), and Sunday to Monday (7:30 AM to 7:30 AM).
  • Interpret and communicate imaging results in a timely manner, entering them into the digital medical record and verbally notifying of critical findings.
  • Provide consultation services, comparative reports, and participate in clinical conferences/committees.
  • Ensure overall patient safety, including oversight of contrast administration, response to adverse reactions, reviewing requests, and ensuring appropriate imaging protocols, preparations, and medications.
  • Assist, train, supervise, and mentor radiology residents in performing procedures and interpreting studies.
  • Provide education and training to medical staff through conferences, committees, and lecture series.
  • Participate in quality control/quality management, including department and hospital level peer reviews.
  • May be assigned administrative or managerial responsibilities through participation in clinical, educational, and administrative committees, task groups, or special projects.
