Are you a Board-Certified or Residency-Trained Criticalist (Emergency & Critical Care) looking for your next exciting chapter? Boreal Veterinary Centre in Edmonton, Alberta is seeking a Critical Care Specialist to join our collaborative and growing specialty and emergency hospital. You’ll be joining an established emergency and critical care service, working alongside experienced ER veterinarians, highly skilled VTS ECC technologists, and a multidisciplinary specialty team. Together, you’ll help shape and grow a department that prioritizes patient outcomes, innovation, and compassionate client care. With 24-hour staffing and access to state-of-the-art equipment — including CT, high-flow oxygen, endoscopy, ultrasound, and a comprehensive in-house laboratory — you’ll have everything you need to deliver exceptional critical care to our patients. You’ll have the opportunity to build protocols, introduce new treatments, and shape the ECC department in line with your vision for gold-standard care. Requirements

  • Diplomate status (ACVECC/ECVECC) or completion of a residency in Emergency & Critical Care with eligibility to write board examinations
  • A team-first mindset with a passion for collaboration and mentorship
  • Excellent communication skills and sound clinical judgment
  • A positive, proactive attitude and strong work ethic
  • A commitment to advancing patient care and contributing to the growth of the ECC department
  • A passion for teaching summer students, final year veterinary student primarily from UCVM and WCVM, and a newly established internship program
