About The Position

Miller's Health Systems is offering a free training program for individuals interested in becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). This program includes classroom instruction and clinical training. Upon successful completion, students must pass the state exam to become a Certified Nurse's Aide. Miller's Health Systems has been providing compassionate care to Indiana families since 1964 and is a 100% employee-owned company.

Requirements

• Must pass classroom tests with 80% or higher.
• Must successfully complete 75 hours of supervised practicum.
• Must perform all required skills successfully during practicum.
• Must have all skills checklists signed off.
• Must complete daily clinical sign-in records.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must pass a TB test.
• Must pass a physical.
• Mandatory attendance to all classroom sessions.
• Satisfactory performance and attendance.

Nice To Haves

• Assistance from a preceptor during practicum for organization and time management.

Responsibilities

• Complete 36-40 hours of classroom work.
• Pass all classroom tests with a score of 80% or higher (3 attempts allowed).
• Complete 75 hours of supervised practicum in a long-term care facility.
• Perform all required skills successfully during the practicum.
• Attend the first 16 hours of practicum with the class instructor (absence will result in dismissal).
• Demonstrate and have all required skills signed off by the clinical instructor or other licensed nursing professional.
• Submit completed skills checklists (RCPs) at the end of the clinicals.
• Complete and have signed a daily "clinical sign-in record" including date, actual hours worked, student signature, and supervisor signature.
• Pass a criminal background check, TB test, and physical prior to starting the course.
• Attend all mandatory classroom sessions.
• Adhere to facility dress code requirements.
