Role Overview: The Assistant Branch Manager directs the workflow of Customer Service Representatives and assists with the overall duties and responsibilities of the branch. You will assist the Branch Manager in assessing branch needs and conduct meetings with your staff. You will work with leadership to train, develop, and mentor Customer Service Representatives to be proficient and accurate in their work. This position serves at the Portage, Indiana, BMV Branch Office.

Requirements

  • Ability to apply fundamental cash management and accounting principles.
  • Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and e-mail systems.
  • Ability to become proficient in the agency operating system.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalent (HSE) and experience applying the outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the branch’s day-to-day operations.
  • Conduct meetings with branch staff.
  • Assist with scheduling for the branch.
  • Assist with daily opening and closing procedures.
  • Complete daily and weekly records for all required reports, balances, and deposits.
  • Aid leadership in the resolution of escalated customer complaints.
  • Maintain Agency Standards for Customer Service ensuring all associates provide best in class customer service.
  • Provide and facilitate resolution for all customer issues.
  • Maintain effective levels of all BMV products and office supplies, while tracking branch serialized items.
  • Oversee the financials of assigned branch’s operations.
  • Maintain agency goal for customer experience time.
  • Ensure accuracy of customer transactions, reporting deposits, procedures, and tasks associated with the branch operations.
  • Ensure appropriate training is completed in order for branch staff to effectively conduct day-to-day operations.
  • Assist with building and supporting the branch team.
  • Partner with Branch Manager and HR staff to ensure training, development, evaluation, and discipline is completed in accordance with policy.
  • Fulfill all duties in the absence of the Branch Manager.
  • Recruit, select, onboard, and train employees to ensure role responsibilities and expectations are clearly understood while providing opportunities to continue professional development.
  • Set expectations, measure progress, provide ongoing feedback, and evaluate the performance of employees. Ensure work adheres to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures.
