Blown Films Technician - 6pm-6am Rotating Schedule
About The Position
The Blown Films operator meets production requirements to fulfill customer orders for rolls of plastic/plastic film and ensure production meets quality standards. The shift is from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. The schedule works as follows: Work 2 days, off 2 days; work 3 days, off 2 days; work 2 days; then off 3 days, and repeat. Shift schedule example: Week One: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday. Week Two: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday. In other words, 48 hours one week, 36 hours the next. Plascon is a manufacturer of specialty plastic packing that is used in the food service, institutional and pharmaceutical industries. Responsibilities
- Reads work orders, specifications and instructions to determine materials, additives and adjustments needed for extrusion or machine set-up.
- Operates machinery according to user instructions.
- Sets rolls and threads rolls through machine.
- Follows quality control requirements; visually inspects finished product for quality.
- Cleans production area at the end of each shift.
- Weighs scrap materials.
- Enters production information into an Excel spreadsheet on a computer
- Packages and labels product as needed.
- Prints labels as needed.
- Monitors machine operations and observe lights and gauges.
- Performs basic maintenance as needed, if further repairs are needed communicates with Lead Films Operator.
