This is a Per Diem role, not eligible for benefits, supporting mobile operations. Prior American Red Cross (ARC) experience is required. Requirements

  • Prior Red Cross experience in a related field and position.
  • Documented satisfactory performance in a previous position.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience (18 months to four years of work experience in a related field).
  • Minimum 1 year leadership experience in environments with public interaction.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Effective verbal communication and public relations skills.
  • A current valid driver's license and good driving record may be required.
  • Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes.
  • Position may require minimum height of 60 inches to ensure the ability to safely operate Red Cross vehicles.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team and drive for results through excellent customer service.
  • Model professionalism and compassion while serving as an ambassador to the public for the nation’s largest not-for-profit blood banking organization.
  • Work as a lead/charge at blood drives when instructed and conduct phlebotomy.
  • Perform blood collection duties within local communities.
  • Coach, mentor, and instruct blood collection staff, serving as a point of resource.
  • Ensure the blood the team collects meets regulatory requirements.
  • Work as a team to set up and tear down equipment required to conduct a mobile blood drive.
