About The Position

The Blender Operator works on the production floor and is responsible for preparing blends according to production formulations. The role involves checking blend sheets and ingredients, verifying meat weight and type, following blending procedures, and documenting production and productivity information in the MES system. The operator also maintains a clean and sanitary work area, follows safety practices and GMPs, and helps dismantle and assemble equipment. The position is listed for the 2nd shift.

Requirements

• Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Follow safety work practices, GMPs, and lockout/tagout procedures when performing washdowns.
• Be willing to cross-train within the department.

Responsibilities

• Report to the production floor on time for shift start and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Review and verify blend sheets and check meat and spices against the written formula.
• Verify meat weight and type.
• Follow blending procedures outlined in the production formulation.
• Document process and productivity information.
• Enter information in the MES system and report problems.
• When washdowns are required, perform lockout/tagout, wash down the blender, and prepare the next blend in a timely manner.
• Stop the production line as needed to obtain immediate attention for problems.
• Keep the work area clean and sanitary and follow safety work practices and GMPs.
• Assist the team with dismantling and assembling equipment.
• Meet with the supervisor at the end of the day.
• Be willing to cross-train within the department to cover responsibilities when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
