About The Position

The primary function of a Blaster at Smith and Loveless will be to blast and prep production items, miscellaneous parts, and products for paint. This is a very physically demanding job. Must be able to carry a heavy blaster and move materials (50-100 lbs).

Requirements

• Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly.
• Demonstrated good work attendance in previous jobs.
• Ability to read work orders.
• Read and understand units of measurement.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Must be able to perform simple, repetitive tasks.
• Must be able to pass drug and alcohol screening, background check and physical exam.
• Required to sit, stand and walk.
• Use hands to finger, hand or feel objects, tools or controls.
• Frequent stooping, bending, pulling and pushing.
• Reach with hands and arms.
• Required to talk and hear consistently.
• Ability to lift, carry and/or drag up to 100 pounds if necessary.
• Must be comfortable in small spaces.
• Specific vision required by the role include the ability to distinguish the nature of objects by using the eye.
• Ability to wear PPE (Eyeglasses, earplugs, and steel toe shoes).
• Ability to ascend and descend two (2) flights of stairs.

Nice To Haves

• Previous forklift experience and certification preferred.
