About The Position

McCrometer, a Veralto company, is a global leader in flow instrumentation, designing, developing, and manufacturing world-class flow measurement equipment. Our products are utilized in critical sectors such as oil and gas, agriculture and irrigation, water and wastewater systems management, and industrial processes. We are seeking a Blaster/Coater to join our Manufacturing & Operations Team in our Hemet, CA location. This is an onsite, Day Shift position, Monday through Friday, 6am – 2:30pm PT, with potential for overtime and weekend work. The role operates within an indoor industrial environment featuring good ventilation, adequate lighting, and low to moderate noise levels. McCrometer is part of the Water Industry Product Line and is committed to making an everyday impact on essential resources.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Use of SAR respirator required.
  • Use of half-mask respirator required.
  • Hearing protection required at ALL times – foam plugs or earmuffs.
  • Gloves, safety shoes with metatarsal protection built in, safety glasses, cooling vest, body harness for fall protection, head coverings and sleeves.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to read and understand verbal and written instructions, specifications, blueprints, or sketches.
  • Operate hand tools, hoist/crane, power tools and pneumatic tools.
  • Quality conscious with the ability to meet efficiency goals.
  • Detail-oriented and able to maintain a high level of ownership and accuracy on all work activities.
  • Ability to work in a positive manner with other associates within cell areas and develop and maintain strong working relationships across teams and subject areas.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience painting metal parts or components.
  • Safely operated powered industrial trucks (forklifts).

Responsibilities

  • Prepares metal surfaces to receive epoxy coating or paint.
  • Applies coating/paint to a specified standard.
  • Bakes to harden finish or dries/cures parts to specifications.
  • Operates sandblasting machines for removal of scale, flux, corrosion, and dirt from metal parts by use of abrasives made through a hose at high velocity by compressed air.
  • Operates powered industrial truck (forklift) to load and unload material.
  • Uses hand tools, hoist/crane, power tools and pneumatic tools as a process of job junction.
  • Brush paints, spray paints or dips a variety of parts or products in coating vehicles.
  • Bakes coated parts in oven to preheat workpieces, and to harden finish.
  • Dries/cures parts in accordance with specifications.
  • Identifies and reports defective parts.
  • Pre inspect work area for safety.
  • Observes and follows all safety regulations and company policies.
