About The Position

Audubon is seeking a Blaster / Coater / Painter I for its Offsite Office. The role involves painting equipment, materials, and structures, while reading blueprints and job specifications. The employee identifies the tools and safety precautions needed for each task, mixes paints and coatings, sandblasts structures, and applies coatings using techniques appropriate to the product and item being treated. Duties also include spray painting, operating sandblasting equipment, applying fireproofing, and maintaining clean work areas. The position requires safely working at heights and from ladders and scaffolds. The employee supports Audubon Companies’ Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures by working safely, participating in required training and reporting activities, identifying and reporting hazards and unsafe conditions, and following safe work practices and applicable regulations.

Requirements

Five years of experience in the construction industry.
Five years of experience as a painter.
Ability to obtain site and safety training certifications required for the project.
Knowledge of construction safety practices.
In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and HSE guidelines.
Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to communicate and report effectively.
Ability to read, comprehend, and carry out instructions.
Ability to work in a team environment and independently when required.
Ability to motivate, lead, teach, and train others on proper work and safety procedures.
Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.
Must pass pre-employment screening, including background and drug testing.
Must have a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets Company requirements.

Responsibilities

Identify the tools required for assigned tasks.
Identify safety risks and the precautions needed to eliminate those risks.
Identify and mix paints and coatings as required, and sandblast structures.
Use proper techniques, including appropriate stroke types, for the paint or coating and the item being treated.
Work safely at heights and from ladders and scaffolds.
Perform housekeeping and clean work areas.
Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work, including locations, quantities, and sizes of required materials.
Spray paint, operate sandblasting equipment, and apply fireproofing.
Perform duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety.
Participate in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities.
Identify and report hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
Follow safe work practices and applicable regulatory requirements.
