The primary purpose of this position is to process licensure actions for NC Pre-K, Developmental Day Preschool, and other grant initiative lead teachers to help them attain and maintain their professional educator’s license from the Department of Public Instruction (NC DPI). This position will provide technical assistance to all teachers enrolled with the EES Unit regarding all licensure requirements set forth by the NC State Board of Education, NCAC Chapter 9 Child Care Rule requirements and NC Pre-K Program policies and procedures. The Birth-Kindergarten Licensure Specialist will collaborate with Educator Preparation Programs (EPP), NC Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) Licensure Section, NCDPI Nash Regional Assistance Licensing Center, the EES Offices at UNC-Charlotte and East Carolina University and other grant initiatives as assigned. This position also requires excellent attention to detail, accurate verbal and written abilities and timely processing of data entry related to teacher licensure requirements.
