About The Position

Mad Science is seeking outgoing, energetic performers to present science shows and parties for children. Performers visit schools, libraries, camps, and other venues to deliver engaging presentations to audiences of approximately 10–250 children. Birthday parties typically have 10–25 children. Mad Science provides training and equipment and handles booking and scheduling. This is a part-time role with shows and parties occurring frequently; candidates with flexible schedules who can accept multiple gigs with advance notice are preferred. Compensation starts at $25 per one-hour program.

Requirements

• Outgoing, dynamic personality and lots of energy.
• Enjoy performing in front of an audience.
• Experience working with groups of children ages 4–12.
• Reliable transportation; must have a car.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Availability on evenings and weekends.
• Some college coursework.
• Knowledge of basic science; additional training is provided.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Responsible, reliable, adaptable, professional, and flexible.

Nice To Haves

• Some experience in theater.
