About The Position

Nadia Care is seeking a certified Birth Doula to serve as a trusted partner and advocate for expectant mothers in the Memphis area. The birth doula will conduct two prenatal visits and provide support during active labor. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about improving maternal and birth outcomes, particularly for underserved communities. Nadia Care aims to enhance the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey by delivering compassionate, trust-based care, including care navigation, doula support, and assistance with various social needs. The organization leverages technology for virtual engagement and complements, rather than replaces, traditional obstetric care by addressing health-related social needs. Requirements

  • Valid Doula Certification
  • Deep knowledge of childbirth, non-medical pain management strategies, breastfeeding, mother/baby bonding, and postpartum recovery
  • Strong communicator who can provide guidance with compassion and cultural sensitivity and inspire trust with clients, families, and medical providers – virtually and in-person
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills to manage multiple clients at one time
  • Comfortable learning new communication and telehealth platforms and EHR documentation systems
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, reliable transportation, and compliance with state inspection, registration, and insurance requirements
  • Access to home internet and a phone with internet access

Nice To Haves

  • Fluent in Spanish or Amharic
  • Breastfeeding Counselor certification
  • Adult & Infant CPR & First Aid certification

Responsibilities

  • Conduct two virtual prenatal visits to educate clients on labor positions, birth plans, and expectations for Labor & Delivery.
  • Be on-call to support clients through active labor.
  • Communicate with the care team to escalate clinical issues and social needs identified during prenatal visits.
  • Maintain clear, accurate documentation of all care interactions.
