About The Position

The Biospecimen Coordinator will serve as a key contributor on the biospecimen team. This individual must independently organize clinical research biospecimen coordination between hospital systems and investigators for multiple complex projects. This person will collaborate with the Lineberger groups such as the Clinical Trials Office ( LCCC CTO ), pathology, and other hospital personnel on the request and processing of biospecimens within UNC Health. They will also develop data collection tools, lab manuals, pathology case reports, and databases. They will design and evaluate research methods and quality controls, define standards for the study design to outline clear objectives, and collect and distribute specimens for multiple study protocols through clinical pathology services. The successful candidate will understand, recommend, and explain results as well as apply research principles, concepts, practices, and methods. Additionally, they will be responsible for developing research procedures to ensure timely grant submissions.
