About The Position

Archbishop Moeller is an all-male, Catholic high school (grades 9-12) located in Cincinnati, OH. Founded by the Marianist order of Priests and Brothers, Moeller is a Catholic high school in the Marianist tradition. Moeller strives to educate all students, regardless of ability, in Mind, Body, and Spirit within a Community of Brothers. Moeller is nationally recognized for their House System and continues to be a leader in the integration of technology, celebrating 20 years as a one-to-one tablet school. Moeller offers a comprehensive, college preparatory curriculum which includes over 30 Advanced Placement/College Credit Plus courses, as well as courses in visual and performing arts, world language, business, and information technology. Moeller is seeking a long-term substitute Biology teacher for a maternity leave (anticipated dates: February 1 – April 30). The successful candidate will teach one section of Advanced Placement Biology and four sections of college preparatory Biology.

Requirements

Candidates will possess at least a bachelor’s degree and hold an Ohio Teacher Certification (or be license eligible) as an Integrated Science teacher 7-12, Life Science teacher 7-12, or Physical Science teacher 7-12.
Candidates will have classroom teaching experience.
Candidates will be a lifelong learner.
Candidates will possess a comprehensive understanding of best practices for educating adolescent boys.
Applicant being able to pass an FBI background test.
Applicant being SAFEParish certified through the Archdiocese of Cincinnati’s Safe Environment program.
All employees will have knowledge of, or openness to learn about the Catholic faith.
All employees will have a willingness to work for a Catholic agency and adhere to the policies of the School and Archdiocese of Cincinnati.

Responsibilities

Teach Biology courses through interactive, intellectually engaging lessons and laboratory experiences in alignment with curricular and student goals.
Provide substantive and timely feedback to students and parents on academic progress via our Learner Management System: MoeCampus.
Analyze assessment data to monitor teaching strategies in relation to student success.
Collaborate and assist intervention specialists in providing differentiated instruction per students’ IEP/SP.
Integrate technological tools to support effective instruction in alignment with ISTE standards.
Serve as a mentor group teacher in our House System, and perform other duties as assigned.
