About The Position

Kleinfelder's Environmental team is seeking a Biologist / Wetland Scientist / Ecologist for their Tulsa, OK office to assist on various projects primarily in the transportation, energy, and commercial markets. The role involves conducting field assessments for wetlands, threatened and endangered species, and other natural resources projects. Approximately 90% of the time will be dedicated to fieldwork, proposal development, and report preparation, with involvement in environmental site assessments and regulatory compliance. The position offers an opportunity for professional growth and diverse project types.

Requirements

BS in an Environmental, Biological, Ecological Science or related field is required.
Strong background in plant and wildlife identification, soils evaluation, hydrology, GPS use, mitigation planning, permit preparation.
Ability to conduct work year-round in adverse climate and field conditions.
Good writing and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail to ensure compliance with relevant state/federal regulations and client specific requirements.
Ability to travel is required (typically short-term).

Nice To Haves

4 -8 or more years of experience in conducting environmental fieldwork and reporting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Field delineations of Waters of the U.S. (including wetlands) according to USACE standards.
Habitat assessments for threatened and endangered species.
Stream and wetland mitigation planning.
Mitigation site monitoring.
Section 404 permitting.
Preparing various types of reports and NEPA documentation.
Environmental Site Assessments.
Regulatory compliance.
Assist with business development and proposal development.
