The Biologist DCL-A position will serve as a Deer Program specialist and coordinate the Deer Management Assistant Program (DMAP). The incumbent serves as the Department's subject matter expert and staff advisor to agency personnel and the public on the management of white-tailed deer through the Deer Management Assistance Program (DMAP). The incumbent also serves as a senior advisor on statewide investigations of deer diseases, urban and nuisance deer management programs, and feral hog disease and management issues. Additionally, the incumbent mentors lower-level biologists and serves as the Assistant to the Deer Program Manager. This job is designated as a Dual Career Ladder(DCL) job and requires applicants meet the following supplemental qualification in addition to the minimum qualifications.
