About The Position
Peer tutors will attend BIOL0145 lectures and during class activities, they will facilitate engagement and active learning by students. Tutors will need prior mastery of the course content and the ability to motivate learning by others, and there may be occasions when peer tutors support student learning outside of class.
Requirements
- Prior mastery of the course content.
- Ability to motivate learning by others.
- Active student status for the semester.
- Not on leave or withdrawn for the semester (unless returning in that semester).
- International students (non-resident aliens) must have applied for and received work authorization from the United States government to work off campus.
- F-1 visa does not grant work authorization.
- Off-campus work-study positions are available only to U.S. citizens on financial aid with a federal work study component.
- Students are not eligible to work remotely from International locations.
- International students are prohibited from exceeding 20 hours of work per academic calendar week due to visa restrictions.
Responsibilities
- Attend BIOL0145 lectures.
- Facilitate engagement and active learning by students during class activities.
- Support student learning outside of class on occasion.
Benefits
- Pay of $14.95 per hour.
