ACE Peer Tutor Student Worker (FWS/NFWS)
About The Position
Grand Canyon University is seeking a University Tutor to support the mission of the University through its ACE Services department. The position provides academic support, individually or in groups, to traditional ground students who need help with coursework. Tutors receive training in tutoring best practices. Tutors are hired to support students in math, science, or business. ACE Centers are open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Preferred availability is 20 hours per week. The pay rate is minimum wage, and the anticipated end date is April 26, 2027. The position reports to the ACE Services - Tutoring Supervisor.
Requirements
- Have a current GPA of 3.25 or above.
- Have an A in the specific course for which the applicant will tutor, or a faculty referral.
- Have a passion and willingness to help others succeed.
- Possess strong ethics and integrity.
- Be enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a bachelor's or master's program.
- Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA as a bachelor's-level student or a 3.0 GPA as a master's-level student.
- Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

- Ability to speak a second language.
- Availability of 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Provide tutoring or coaching to students, including reviewing course lectures and homework.
- Review student diagnostic assessments.
- Collect and maintain student data related to tutoring assistance, assessment, and progress monitoring.
- Maintain the confidentiality of student records and services provided.
- Perform administrative duties for Center Operations as requested.
