About The Position

Kilpatrick's Chemistry & Life Sciences Patent Prosecution team is seeking a USPTO-registered Patent Agent or Patent Attorney with strong educational and/or industry experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field. This role is an alternative to traditional partnership-track positions and features a lower billable hour requirement for attorney candidates. Admission (or qualification for admission) to the state bar corresponding to the primary office location is required. The position can be based in one of the following KTS offices: Atlanta, GA; Denver, CO; Houston, TX; Seattle, WA; Raleigh, NC; San Francisco, CA; Silicon Valley, CA; Washington DC; Winston-Salem, NC. Remote / Hybrid candidates may be considered.

Requirements

USPTO-registered Patent Agent or Patent Attorney.
Strong educational and/or industry experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field.
High level of familiarity and practical experience in both software and biological fields.
Highly detail-oriented.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Admission (or qualification for admission) to the state bar corresponding to the primary office location (for attorney candidates).

Nice To Haves

Advanced degree (MS or PhD).
At least three years of related patent prosecution experience.
Proficiency in technical writing.
