About The Position

BioTeam, part of n² Group, is hiring a Bioinformatics Consultant to help a life sciences client modernize bioinformatics pipelines by migrating legacy workflows to Nextflow and improving their portability and reliable operation across on-premises infrastructure and AWS. The work involves production systems in a regulated clinical environment and includes practical technical problem-solving across pipeline logic, storage, compute, and cloud infrastructure. The consultant will migrate and refactor pipelines, configure AWS infrastructure, support comparative validation and benchmarking, develop tests, and contribute to monitoring and scheduling applications for cloud-based pipelines. The role includes documenting pipeline changes, configurations, and operating procedures. The position is remote in the listed states, full-time at 40 hours per week, with availability required during core hours of 11 a.m.–5 p.m. Eastern. Up to 20% travel within the United States is expected, primarily to client sites for assessments and workshops, and to conferences. BioTeam describes its work as supporting scientific discovery for life sciences and biomedical research organizations through expertise in high-performance computing, data management, cloud technologies, and research IT infrastructure. The consultant will work collaboratively with experienced engineers and have opportunities to develop technical skills and broaden expertise. Success in the first 6–12 months includes contributing to the Nextflow migration and AWS execution, completing validation work and documentation, developing validation and quality-assurance tests, and contributing to cloud pipeline monitoring and scheduling applications.
