About The Position

The Bioinformatician functions as a bioinformatics collaborator who applies bioinformatics expertise to the design, implementation, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of research and clinical genomics studies. The work is performed under the supervision of a Senior Bioinformatician or Principal Bioinformatician. Possesses skills and knowledge in a variety of bioinformatics and computational biology tools and techniques to analyze genomics, proteomics and metabolomics data (omics technologies). Also possesses good programming skills to develop novel analytical tools as needed by projects. Additional optional skills include basic knowledge of statistical methodology. Administrative duties: accurately keep track and record time spent on projects. Maintain documentation of projects with a level of detail enabling the handoff to other bioinformatics staff members.
