About The Position

The Bioinformatician functions as a bioinformatics collaborator who applies bioinformatics expertise to the design, implementation, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of research and clinical genomics studies. The work is performed under the supervision of a Senior Bioinformatician or Principal Bioinformatician. Possesses skills and knowledge in a variety of bioinformatics and computational biology tools and techniques to analyze genomics, proteomics and metabolomics data (omics technologies). Also possesses good programing skills to develop novel analytical tools as needed by projects. Additional optional skills include basic knowledge of statistical methodology. Administrative duties include accurately keeping track and recording time spent on projects, and maintaining documentation of projects with a level of detail enabling the handoff to other bioinformatics staff members.

Requirements

  • Master's in bioinformatics or a similar field with an emphasis on analytical omics expertise.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Expertise in the use of informatics computing and data management packages.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and delegate various tasks on projects.
  • Demonstrated success in project management and communication skills.
  • A commitment to customer service with an attitude of owning the experience of each customer.
