About The Position

The Global Immunology department in Sanofi, Vaccines R&D is seeking a highly motivated and organized Co-op student to join the Early-Stage Immunology group. This position will serve as an integral member of a research team responsible for supporting our Immunology and Vaccines organizations by supporting complex data entries in the electronic notebooks, analyzing biological datasets, developing computational models, and discovering insights through statistical and algorithmic techniques. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future.
  • Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the Internal requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university throughout the duration of the co-op/internship.
  • Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40hrs/week, Monday to Friday for the full duration of the co-op/internship.
  • Proficient English language written, and verbal skills are required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework in statistics, programming, and biological sciences
  • Basic programming skills in at least one language (Python, R, or similar).
  • Understanding of biological concepts, particularly in immunology or related fields.
  • Immunological assay data experience (ELISA, cell-based assays).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement computational pipelines and analytical methods for processing large-scale immunological datasets from vaccine research and development programs.
  • Quality check research data entries to the electronic notebooks.
  • Analyze and interpret complex biological data from various sources including genomic sequencing, proteomics, and immunological assays.
  • Apply expertise in programming languages (Python/R), statistical analysis tools, and bioinformatics software to process and analyze high-throughput data.
  • Ensure data quality and reproducibility while establishing best practices in computational analysis and promoting robust documentation standards.
  • Participate in code maintenance and pipeline optimization as required.
  • Perform data visualization, statistical analysis, and appropriate documentation through computational notebooks and version control systems.
  • Actively participate in project/group meetings through attendance, presentation of analytical results, and contributing to scientific discussions.
  • May participate in the implementation of analytical pipelines for pre-clinical immunology groups.
  • All work is performed in a collaborative research environment and will involve training in relevant computational tools, databases, and platforms used in vaccine research and development.
