As Spring Co-op in our Biologics Drug Product Development Group, you’ll support the US Vaccine R&D Site Operations team. In this role, you will work directly alongside Site Management Operations Leads to assist with day-to-day site activities, operational initiatives, and cross-functional projects across our US R&D facilities. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor's or master's degree program in one of the following fields: Life Sciences (Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related)/ Chemical, Biochemical, or Engineering/ Pharmaceutical Sciences/ Operations Management, Supply Chain, or Business Administration/ Environmental Health & Safety or related discipline.
  • Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future.
  • Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the Internal requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university throughout the duration of the co-op/internship.
  • Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40hrs/week, Monday to Friday for the full duration of the co-op/internship.

  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Site Management Operations Leads with tracking and coordinating ongoing site activities, action items, and deliverables.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of site operational dashboards, metrics, and KPI reports.
  • Help monitor and follow up on open action items, corrective actions, and site commitments to ensure timely closure.
  • Collect, compile, and analyze operational data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare summaries, presentations, and reports for site leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Support the development and maintenance of tracking tools (Excel, SharePoint, Power BI, or equivalent platforms).
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process maps.
  • Provide coordination support for site improvement initiatives, capital projects, and operational change management activities.
  • Track project milestones, timelines, and resource needs; flag risks or delays to Operations Leads.
  • Assist in preparing project charters, status updates, and stakeholder communications.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance tracking and scheduling, including coordination of planned and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Support facility maintenance coordination by helping to organize work orders, maintenance requests, and follow-up actions.
  • Help maintain equipment inventory and asset management records, ensuring accuracy and completeness of asset databases.
  • Assist with facility compliance documentation, including calibration records, equipment qualification documentation, and regulatory readiness materials.
  • Support preventive maintenance (PM) programs by tracking PM schedules, monitoring completion rates, and escalating overdue items to the Facilities and Equipment team.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings with R&D, Engineering, Facilities, Supply Chain, and Regulatory Affairs teams.
  • Serve as a liaison for information gathering and communication between site functions and Operations Leads.
  • Support the planning and execution of site events, town halls, and operational reviews.
