We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bioanalytical Mass Spectrometry Scientist to support discovery and preclinical development programs through the development, optimization, and execution of LC-MS/MS-based bioanalytical assays. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise with both high-resolution and tandem quadrupole mass spectrometry platforms, particularly Thermo Orbitrap and Agilent Triple Quadrupole systems, and experience analyzing diverse therapeutic modalities including proteins, peptides, small molecules, and antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs).

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or M.S. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Molecular Biology, or related scientific discipline.
  • 3+ years (industry preferred) of hands-on experience in bioanalytical mass spectrometry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in LC-MS/MS method development and optimization.
  • Strong experience with: Thermo Orbitrap platforms, Agilent Triple Quadrupole systems
  • Proven ability to detect and quantify proteins, peptides, small molecules, and ASOs in biological matrices.
  • Experience working with mouse and non-human primate (NHP) samples.
  • Familiarity with chromatographic techniques including reverse-phase, ion-pairing, and HILIC separations.
  • Strong understanding of bioanalytical assay validation principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience supporting oligonucleotide therapeutics programs.
  • Knowledge of regulated bioanalysis (GLP/GCLP environment).
  • Experience with hybrid ligand-binding/MS workflows.
  • Familiarity with automation platforms and high-throughput sample preparation.
  • Experience with metabolite identification and biomarker analysis.
  • Proficiency with data analysis software such as: Xcalibur, MassHunter, Skyline, Analyst or equivalent tools
  • Development of highly sensitive quantitative LC-MS/MS assays.
  • High-resolution accurate mass (HRAM) method development.
  • MRM assay development on triple quadrupole instruments.
  • Detection and characterization of low-abundance analytes in complex matrices.
  • Troubleshooting ion suppression, matrix effects, and extraction recovery issues.
  • Strong understanding of PK/PD and biodistribution applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, validate, and troubleshoot quantitative and qualitative bioanalytical LC-MS/MS methods for: Proteins and biologics, Peptides, Small molecules, Antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs)
  • Perform sample preparation and extraction from complex biological matrices including: Mouse plasma, serum, tissues, and CSF, Non-human primate (NHP) plasma, serum, tissues, and biofluids
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot: Thermo Orbitrap LC-MS/MS systems, Agilent Triple Quadrupole LC-MS/MS systems
  • Design and execute bioanalytical workflows supporting PK, TK, biodistribution, biomarker, and metabolism studies.
  • Develop sensitive and robust quantitative assays using high-resolution MS and MRM-based methods.
  • Analyze and interpret complex mass spectrometry datasets using vendor and third-party software tools.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with DMPK, pharmacology, translational biology, and toxicology teams.
  • Maintain detailed experimental records and prepare technical reports, SOPs, and study summaries.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and regulatory guidelines where applicable.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and advancements in bioanalytical mass spectrometry.
