About The Position

Wallace Graphics is hiring a Bindery Operator to support its finishing operation at its Duluth location. The operator turns freshly printed sheets into finished products by setting up, operating, and maintaining bindery equipment for cutting, folding, or stitching. The role includes reading job documentation, adjusting equipment to specifications, and maintaining quality throughout each run. Operators may cross-train on additional equipment as they grow.

Requirements

At least 1–2 years of experience operating production bindery equipment such as a cutter, folder, or stitcher.
Comfort navigating equipment control panels and machine components.
Ability to read job documentation and instructions, determine required cutting, folding, or stitching, and use basic math.
Ability to set up and adjust machinery and check work throughout a production run.
Basic knowledge of machine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication.
Basic computer and keyboard skills.
Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, dependability, time-management skills, and a team-first and safety-first attitude.

Nice To Haves

Experience operating more than one type of bindery equipment or willingness to cross-train on additional equipment.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and adjust cutting, folding, or stitching equipment according to job specifications.
Read job jackets, imposition and rule-up sheets, and written and verbal instructions to determine the required work.
Check quality and quantity during production and ensure each job is ready to move on or ship.
Perform basic machine maintenance, including cleaning and lubrication, identify problems, resolve them when possible, and escalate issues to the Manager when needed.
Log jobs in the data collection system.
Manage time, direct fellow crew members when needed, maintain a clean and tidy work area, and follow safety rules.
