BIM Technician - Electrical

About The Position

The Electrical BIM Technician creates and develops relationships with team members and internal and external clients in support of Baker Group’s Core Focus and Values, while helping maintain and grow the “Client for Life” concept. The role uses advanced electrical design, layout, and construction knowledge and industry-leading Autodesk and related software to produce construction models and documents. The technician also supports project teams, BIM users, and efforts to improve BIM processes and integrate detailing with design and prefabrication.

Requirements

One to five years of experience with electrical systems design, layout, construction, and project model setup.
Advanced knowledge of Autodesk software, including Revit, add-ins, Fabrication, and Navisworks, as well as Bluebeam, Excel, and Outlook.
Proven ability to manage processes successfully and profitably and integrate detailing.
Ability to delegate work effectively to leverage personal effectiveness.
Ability to prioritize and balance immediate responsibilities with broader objectives.
Effective listening and communication skills, including the ability to value others’ opinions and contributions and work well with people at all levels.
Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to resolve issues promptly toward mutually beneficial solutions.
Natural leadership skills, sound reasoning, and good judgment.
Strong desire to integrate detailing with design and prefabrication to enhance profitability.

Responsibilities

Use Autodesk and related software to create 3D models and 2D construction documents.
Build knowledge of construction methods and detailing to improve professional abilities.
Work with point-cloud and laser-scan files, including alignment, arrangement, and compression, and operate scanning and layout equipment.
Modify floor plans accurately to reflect as-built conditions or field markups.
Create details and Revit family parts.
Create installation and spool drawings.
Assist project teams with coordination and meeting project deadlines.
Provide BIM user support and training.
Help write processes and procedures to improve BIM efficiency.
Maintain and grow relationships with existing and new clients in support of the “Client for Life” concept.
