About The Position

The Electrical VDC Coordinator is responsible for BIM design of power systems and/or building systems and systems infrastructures. The position models electrical systems, prepares electrical model content for VDC coordination meetings, and creates shop drawings for field use. The coordinator works under the direction of a VDC Manager and collaborates with other disciplines, Superintendents, and field personnel to coordinate designs and understand installation means and methods. The role may involve field site visits and being stationed at a project site. This is not a remote or work-from-home position.

Requirements

3–5 years of electrical BIM experience in power systems and/or building systems infrastructures.
Provide a portfolio showing 1–3 previously coordinated projects.
Knowledge of Autodesk production software, including Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Point Layout, and BIM 360.
Dedication to learning, expanding knowledge, and continuous improvement.
Superior organizational and communication skills.
Problem-solving ability, acceptance of responsibility, and a strong work ethic.
Ability to work with teams, supervisors, and direct reports in remote offices.
Motivation to complete tasks on time and on budget.

Responsibilities

Model electrical systems using BIM.
Work under the direction of a VDC Manager.
Collaborate and coordinate with other disciplines, including attending VDC coordination meetings.
Understand the BIM scope of work and adhere to the BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
Prepare electrical model content for VDC coordination meetings in accordance with electrical code and Helix standards.
Create shop drawings for the field.
Maintain strong verbal and written communication.
Understand single-line diagrams and electrical drawings.
Participate in potential field site visits and possibly be stationed at a project site.
Work with Superintendents and field personnel to understand installation means and methods.
Provide clients with consistent, concise communication and top-quality service.
