About The Position

We are seeking a full‑time legal Billing Specialist to join our high‑volume Billing Department in our Uniondale office. In this role, you will support the firm’s billing operations by ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant invoice processing for a large portfolio of insurance defense matters.

Requirements

2+ years of relevant billing experience, required
Knowledge of standard billing processes, including invoice formatting, timekeeper allocations, and paperless billing workflows.
Experience with electronic billing platforms, including client/matter setup and time entry troubleshooting.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Ability to work accurately and efficiently under time‑sensitive deadlines.
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with all levels of firm personnel and client contacts.
Willingness to work extended hours during billing deadlines.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred.
Experience with legal billing systems and time & billing software is a plus.
Prior experience in a law firm environment, highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Process monthly and quarterly client billing invoices.
Review client billing instructions to ensure full compliance with guidelines.
Research and resolve billing issues; collaborate with partners, assistants, and billing staff to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Submit and monitor e‑billed invoices; resolve discrepancies and rejected invoices promptly.
Track delayed payments and follow up as needed.
