About The Position

Morton Comprehensive is seeking a Billing Specialist to handle insurance claim submission, follow-up, and resolution for commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and patient accounts. The role also manages patient account collection efforts, including generating statements, arranging payments, collecting on accounts, and monitoring and pursuing delinquent accounts. The Billing Specialist ensures billing practices are prompt, ethical, and compliant with organizational, payer, and governmental regulations and guidelines. This is not a remote position. The position is designated as safety-sensitive. Morton reserves the right to refuse to hire an applicant or terminate an employee in a safety-sensitive position who tests positive for medical marijuana, even if the individual has a valid medical marijuana license.

Nice To Haves

Two to five years of previous medical billing and/or outpatient claims experience.
Certificate in Medical Billing/Coding and/or an associate’s degree in Health Information Management, Business, or a related field.
CCA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA, CPC, COC, and/or CPB credentials.
Proficiency in ICD-10 and CPT medical billing codes.
Familiarity with eCW and/or Medicare/Medicare Advantage billing and/or optometry billing experience.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
