About The Position

The Billing Specialist is responsible for reviewing clinical documentation and coding and posting surgery and hospital charges for insurance billing. The role supports CPT and ICD-10 coding and works accounts receivable for the ambulatory surgery center (ASC). The specialist maintains communication with the Team Lead and/or Supervisor, protects patient confidentiality, and complies with governmental and regulatory requirements. The role also requires timely completion of mandated training and in-services, including annual OSHA training and PPD placements. This position operates in a professional office environment and may involve primarily local business-day travel, with some out-of-area and overnight travel expected.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
At least three years of related accounts receivable or medical billing experience.
Knowledge of accounts receivable, denial management, and CPT/ICD-10 coding.
Ability to solve practical problems and handle concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammed, or scheduled instructions.
Thorough knowledge of computer information systems.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience working with ASC claims is preferred.

Responsibilities
