About The Position

The Billing Representative will work within the Revenue Cycle department and ultimately have a role in all revenue cycle activities with the primary functions being billing, coding and collections. The Billing Representative will work directly with the Revenue Cycle Manager whom reports to the Controller and ultimately to the CEO. Remote work option available.

Requirements

• Minimum two years billings experience
• Certified Coder
• Must demonstrate strong computer skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience with professional (1500) billing and facility billing (UB-04) a plus
• Willingness to learn and understand additional revenue cycle tasks
• Versatility within the work environment

Responsibilities

• Coding of all claims, including professional, anesthesia and facility
• Working all error and hold claims, as designed by supervisor, while maintaining an acceptable level of claims within the designed bucket system
• Identify and report trends related to error, hold and denial claims
• Know and understand acceptable levels of reimbursement based on CPT code and insurance company
• Have the ability to calculate self-pay rates
• Work all collections accounts as necessary and per Hospital Policy
• Initiate claims against estates by monitoring deaths and unpaid accounts; informing legal department to act on probate and estate issues; following up with clerk of court
• Set up and maintain patient payment plans
• Know and understand Hospital's Financial Assistance Policy
• Answer all patient or insurance inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts
• Willingness to learn and understand additional revenue cycle tasks
• Versatility within the work environment
• Must demonstrate strong computer skills
