About The Position

SimonMed Imaging is seeking a Billing Representative – Level I to help evaluate and resolve billing issues. The position works under the direct supervision of the Billing Manager and closely with the Manager to review account handling and provide excellent customer service. The role requires adherence to departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines, and the safe operation of equipment and mechanical devices. Duties may change at any time and are not limited to those listed in the posting.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two or more years of experience in a related field.
Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines.
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and the public and establish good working relationships with internal and external customers.
Proficiency in telephone etiquette.
Successful completion of drug and background screening as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of medical billing.

Responsibilities

Research systems to obtain updated demographic information for insurance and patient billing.
Review billing-system accounts to verify that claims were handled appropriately and research patient inquiries.
Provide the Manager with information about the handling of patient accounts.
Launch case investigations with the billing service and provide instructions on proper account handling, such as filing insurance appeals or correcting mishandled claims.
Demonstrate competency in job-related skills while serving customer populations and departmental services, providing excellent customer service.
Use and operate equipment and mechanical devices to maintain a functional, effective, and safe environment.
Follow policies, procedures, and guidelines related to departmental operations.
