Billing Representative II
About The Position
The Billing Representative II is responsible for managing Third – Party Accounts Receivable (AR) by analyzing denied and un-responded claims. This role involves making outbound calls to insurance carriers to reconcile and resolve any issues, always maintaining compliance and HIPAA standards. The representative will also process insurance/patient refunds and adjustments, evaluate and respond to email requests for AR issues, and meet or exceed daily production and quality standards. This position typically works with Billing Representatives and other employees handling complex billing issues to collect revenue for the organization, and will work with patient, client, and/or third-party insurance bills. The role requires a dedicated work area that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- Ability to create and modify spreadsheets within Microsoft Excel
- Ability to navigate on internet for research purposes
- Problem solving, organization and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Communication skills, both verbal and written
Nice To Haves
- 1-2 years Medical Billing experience
- Familiar with explanation of benefits and appeals
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
Responsibilities
- Managing Third – Party AR by analyzing denied and un-responded claims
- Outbound calls to insurance carriers to reconcile/resolve any issues
- Always maintain Compliance and HIPPA standard
- Meet or exceed daily production standards by maintaining work list according to metrics
- Meet or exceed daily quality standards
- Perform other duties and functions as assigned
- Process insurance/patient refunds and adjustments
- Evaluate and response to all email requests for any AR issues to resolve in a timely manner
