Temporary Billing Manager
About The Position
Seniority Healthcare is seeking an experienced Temporary Billing Manager to provide maternity leave coverage for our Billing Manager. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing a team of four billing specialists, with direct responsibility for accounts receivable, denial management, chronic care management (CCM) billing, and Medicare billing compliance across our multi-state telehealth operations (NJ, PA, NY, DE). This is an excellent opportunity for a billing professional who can step into an established team, maintain continuity of operations, and keep revenue cycle performance on track during the transition.
Requirements
- Prior experience as a Billing Manager or senior billing supervisor in a healthcare setting
- Demonstrated experience managing a billing team (staff oversight/supervision)
- Strong working knowledge of A/R management and denials management
- Experience with CCM (Chronic Care Management) billing and coding
- Solid understanding of Medicare billing rules and reimbursement processes
- Hands-on experience with Tebra billing software (required)
- Experience producing billing/revenue cycle reports for leadership
- Strong communication skills and ability to onboard quickly with minimal ramp-up time
- Medical Billing certification
Nice To Haves
- Experience in multi-state telehealth or physician practice billing
- Familiarity with EMR systems (Practice Fusion a plus)
- Experience managing interim/transitional coverage roles
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Directly supervise and support a team of 4 billing staff, managing daily workflow, coverage, and performance during the interim period
- Accounts Receivable (A/R): Own A/R management, ensuring timely follow-up, aging reduction, and accurate account resolution
- Denials Management: Oversee the denial and appeals process, identifying root causes and driving corrections to reduce future denials
- CCM Billing: Manage chronic care management coding and billing workflows, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Medicare Billing: Ensure Medicare billing practices remain compliant with current rules and reimbursement guidelines
- Reporting: Prepare and deliver regular billing performance reports (A/R aging, denial trends, collections, CCM metrics) to leadership
- System Management: Utilize Tebra for day-to-day billing operations, claims submission, and reporting
- Continuity: Maintain existing processes and escalate/flag any material issues to the Sr. Director of Business Operations
