We’re looking for a Billing Assistant to support our billing department and help ensure a positive, efficient financial experience for our clients. Requirements

  • Experience: 1–3+ years of medical billing experience preferred
  • Insurance knowledge: Experience with electronic insurance processing required. Familiarity with commercial insurance, Medicare, credentialing, payer processes, ICD-10 and CPT codes preferred. Training and support provided for continued growth.
  • Communication: Friendly, confident, and professional in person, on the phone, and via email.
  • Work ethic: Reliable, hardworking, ability to multitask, detail-oriented, proactive, and open to feedback and growth.
  • Problem-solver: You don’t just spot issues - you help solve them.
  • Tech-savvy: Comfortable with billing systems and processing claims electronically.
  • People-first attitude: You value team collaboration and exceptional client care.

  • Local presence: Must be able to commute to our Manalapan and Shrewsbury offices.

Responsibilities

  • Support a solution-focused and collaborative billing environment
  • Support the billing cycle including claim submission, payment posting, claim follow-up, and resolution support
  • Accurately verify prospective and current client information and insurance
  • Ensure timely and accurate insurance claim processing and payment posting
  • Process client payments and maintain up-to-date financial records
  • Assist with billing issues such as coordination of benefits, insurance terminations, claim follow-up, and recoupments, with opportunities to grow into more complex billing responsibilities over time
  • Maintain billing documentation, insurance aging reports, and billing-related tracking
  • Support provider credentialing and re-credentialing processes
  • Respond to client and staff billing questions with clarity, professionalism, and empathy
  • Collaborate with the billing team and leadership to support smooth workflows and continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with billing procedures, carrier requirements, and HIPAA regulations
  • Support ongoing billing initiatives and process improvements across the department
