About The Position

To provide essential business office functions by maintaining compliant billing and collecting of medical services provided by BBAHC. This function includes of IHS, Self-Pay, Commercial as well as Medicare and Medicaid third party insurance groups.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Two (2) years documented Medical Billing experience.
• Computer literate with typing speed of 60 wpm and can work in multiple computer platforms.
• Prior general office/money handling experience required.
• Must have a general understanding of insurance billing and willing to learn medical billing with supervised on-site training.
• Excellent verbal and written customer service skills and ability to interact in a positive HIPAA compliant manner with patients and co-workers.
• Well organized and detail oriented.

Nice To Haves

• Willingness to obtain certification (Certified Billing Specialist) within one year of hire.
• Medical terminology preferred or ability to obtain certificate within 1 year.
• Yup'ik speaking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor/mentor Biller Specialist I for accuracy and training.
• Operate a multi-line phone system.
• Work with minimal supervision and resolve issues through research regarding medical billing.
• Represent BBAHC in a professional manner.
